Description
Assist Common Threads Food Educators with after-school gardening or cooking club activities (these take place in fall, winter, or spring). Clubs take place at schools and low-income apartment complexes.

Assist Common Threads Food Educators in facilitating a diversity of Spring Break (first week of April) and Summer programs (late June to mid-August) for kids ages 3+. We lead camp programs at The Outback on the WWU campus and at low-income housing sites.

Assist Common Threads Food Educators with classroom-based healthy cooking activities. Our classroom cooking programs run November-February. Volunteers must be available during the school day Mondays-Thursdays (no classes on Fridays). In Bellingham, that is 8am-2:30pm. Schools outside Bellingham may have different schedules.

Assist Common Threads’ Food Educators with school garden-based lessons September-October and late March to early June. Includes experiential outdoor education and facilitating small groups of students. No gardening knowledge required (but welcomed!). Volunteers must be available during the school day Mondays-Thursdays (no classes on Fridays). In Bellingham, that is 8am-2:30pm. Schools outside Bellingham may have different schedules.

Description
Occasional one-off projects, such as light carpentry, setting up drip systems, hauling debris or compost, etc. (A truck is particularly handy!)
